On Wednesday January 29th, we start rehearsals for the Randy Newman programme.
The concert is on Friday May 9th 2025.
If you only have a vague awareness of Randy Newman, perhaps as a composer for films such as Toy Story (and many others), then this concert is a treat in store.
His film music is very fine and we will sing a couple of well known numbers – You’ve got a Friend in Me and When She Loved Me. His own albums though, have a magnificent array of songs which run the gamut from hilarious to poignant. Some are political, some tell stories of some quite unsavoury characters, all of them are beautifully crafted and enormously satisfying to sing.
